Below are some excerpts from Admissions by Design. These voices are from Lisa's students over the years.
STUDENT VOICE
It may be hard to differentiate a passion for something from a random whim, but if the student is adamant, and pushes back on your advice, you should accept their choice and attempt to find them the best location to go to school for what they have decided to do. Even if that is being a game developer when you don’t think that that is a “real job,” or even if they really want nothing more than to be a tradesman or an artist. Not every student needs to go to a prestigious school, and some may in fact be better off if they don’t.
STUDENT VOICE
"The application process was fulfilling... largely because it was an opportunity for me to define who I was, on my own terms."
STUDENT VOICE
"A passion is something that is built over a lifetime... I expect not everyone has a clear passion in life at the end of high school, but if you do, don’t let anybody’s advice steer you away from it."
